The analects are a collection of philosophical aphorisms or proverbs, written by Confucius, that offer universal truths about life. With these aphorisms, Confucius provides advices that leave readers to draw their own conclusion. He urges ordinary citizens to respect authority figures, and he teaches leaders to demand much from themselves and little from others, so they could establish a peaceful and content nation.
I think that these teachings are very useful for any person who is looking to achieve a moral life. Personally, I learned a lot of this important phrase “What you do not wish to yourself do not do to others”, this phrase is the base for having a good and respectful relationship with any person. It teaches to have conscious about the needs of the people around you. Also it teaches how to live in harmony, being kind and behaving, to earn the respect, obedience and affection of the beloved ones.
